How many watts should I push to my < two > 250 watt RMS 1000 watt Peak Infinity Subwoofers??

Should it be a 500 watt amp to push both subs?

I would buy a 600 watt amp personally. You will still not blow your speakers with 600 watt amp and it will still kick the neighborhood when you come through town!

You need a 1000 watt amp that peaks at 2000 watts. One subwoofers will eat up a 500 watt amp. Which has a peak of 1000 watt.

Most system is set up for on subwoofer. Two is a bit to much. It will over power the rest of the syster. And may cuse feed back that can blow the system at high out put. Plug cause you to loose your hearing. Subwooder are for low tones. You may blow the windows out as well.
Reply:first off forget peak ratings they mean nothing.

with that siad get a amp that is no larger than 500 watts RMS into the load the subs produce. 2 DVC 2ohm subs would be a 2 ohm final load so a amp that is 500 watts RMS @ 2 ohm.

If there are 2 DVC 4ohm the final load is 4 ohm and you need a amp that is 500 @ 4ohms.

so YES 500 to push both subs, but it is critical that you get the right impedance or load. hit me up if you need help with determining that.

additional info

. see a amp that puts out 500 watts to 4 ohm will put out 1000 to 2 ohm. so as you see there is a big difference that can mean blowing your subs, or not gettign the power and volume you are looking for.
Reply:Hey first time in this section.

many wrong answers for this question. I have been a audio nut for many years.

not trying to be critical but please read. First Watts mean little or nothing, current is what make the sound. IF you have a amp that is rated at say 100 watts its only good if the current is getting to the end. most of todays audio equipment is junk from the get go. Cheap stuff made in China at is the same regardless the name brand. its take current to make a watt if your amp is saying 100, 500 1000 watts, take in count this is top peek one time measure. 100 true watts would make you ears bleed.

your question should not be concerned about watts give those subs 20 watts of high current and you would not be able to sit in the car.

go for a high current amp. look in the old school items from Phoenix gold ms series or zero point. maybe a ppi art series.

one amp make in the USA today but they coast a lot is called

Tru technology. very well make stuff.

do your self a favor do a good on clipping and read on;. this will give you some light on true sound.
