They are both brand new and I can only put the amps gain at about 60% until they cut out on certain songs. The amp is 750rms and the subs are 2ohm 400rms a piece. Whats the problem??

check on your ground connections to much power going in and not enough going out can cause and amp to overheat not good plus make you subs cut out all together make sure the power wire is the same size as the gound wire

You should check your stereo settings. If your bass control is up too far then your amp will see it as an already amplified system and cut out to prevent damage. That%26#039;s the #1 issue with mine. I bought the same setup as a %26quot;Living Loud%26quot; package: 2 cvr 12%26#039; and the 750 watt amp. I can turn the bass control to about 25% on the stereo and turn the gain all the way up on the amp. If it came with a dash mounted bass control knob you should use it for sure!
